MY APPROACH TO ROLFING®

Rolfing was my entree to Bodywork; I received my first session when I was 22 and for it was life-changing.  At that young age, I was not seeking pain relief, but a better relationship with my body and my self. Prior to Rolfing, I viewed my body as the “enemy”; too short, too heavy, basically not good enough.  As I progressed along the Rolfing ten-series, I noticed both positive structural and emotional changes and started liking my image and gaining  confidence, ease of motion and physical abilities.  I found myself enjoying sports, dancing, and daily chores with a new awareness and enthusiasm.

I became a Rolfing “devotee” and encouraged almost everyone I knew to get the work. I worked for a year in a Rolfer’s office, where I was able to observe hundreds of clients as they went through the series.  Although life initially lead me into different careers, I always continued receiving Rolfing and recommending it to others.

So, I was overjoyed to train as a Rolfer in 1995 and to be able to provide the services that I’ve loved for so long to others. My approach to Rolfing is a manner that works deeply, but without pain.  By using skilled touch and perception, I can access very deep tissues in a way that is comfortable and effective.  My Rolfing sessions incorporate techniques from Visceral/Neural Manipulation and Cranial Sacral therapy and use this knowledge to help achieve the goals of each session. With 16 years of experience in my Rolfing practice, I continue to find it a most fulfilling path.  It’s truly a privilege to work with my clients and aid them in improving their quality of life through increased self-awareness and physical well-being.
